The European General Practice Research Network 

EGPRN is the network organisation within Wonca Europe for promotion of research in general practice throughout Europe. 

The essence of the EGPRN is informal, critical discussion of on-going research projects. To this end, meetings lasting for two and half days are organised twice yearly in different European locations. Each meeting has a central theme; papers in that area of research are given priority but there are additional sessions with free- standing papers. Participants can present their work for fifteen minutes with a further fifteen minutes of critical discussion from the other participants. Special emphasis is placed on discussion of development of research methodologies. 

EGPRN aims to promote collaborative research in general practice in Europe and has facilitated a number of international projects. It also organises research methods training courses. 

EGPRN has members from virtually all the countries of Europe. Each member country elects its national representative, who participates in the six monthly Council meetings where decisions are made about EGPRN activities.
