The Hippocrates Medal

From 2002 it has been decided that it is no longer possible to make the Hippocrates awards because of the lack of appropriate sponsorship from the Hippocrates Verlag. Wonca Europe Executive Committee is considering the development of a new award, full details will be published later this year.

The award goes to a person who, during a lifetime, has contributed in an outstanding way to the international development of general practice/family medicine.

Member organisations within Wonca Europe and individual members can propose a candidate to the executive committee.

The Hippocrates Medal is presented at the annual regional Wonca Europe Conference, Wonca Europe.

The winners of the Hippokrates Medal since the founding of Wonca Europe:
