18 Preference To Overeat, Physical Activity And Their Connection With Obesity

The obesity is one excess of body fat frequently resulting in a significant impairment of health, and according by the report of World Health Organisation it starts to be an epidemic in a large number of countries. Possible causes of obesity are lack of physical activity and preference to overeat. AIM: To exam relation between obesity, physical activity and preference to overeat. DESIGN:Scientific paper.
MATERIAL AND METHODS:
A sample with 154 random chosen patients make 48 (31,2 %) men, and 106 (68,8 %) women, 30–80 years old. Obesity is defined by body-mass index (BMI) over 30. Physical activity is defined by modified scheme of Hanson and Ainsworth. All patients are questioned; do they prefer to overeat.
RESULTS:
Obesity was presented with 106 patients (68,84 %), and 48 patients (31,16 %) were not obese. The data got by questionnaire showed that there were 134 patients who were not physically active (87,01 %) (101 patients who were obese, and 33 patients who were not obese). Physical activity was presented with 20 patients (16,91 %), with 5 patients (25 %) who are obese, and 15 patients (75 %) who were not obese (pCONCLUSION:
Lack of physical activity, and preference to overeat are connected with the obesity.
