Professor Chunhua Chi is a leading general practice physician and national healthcare innovator, serving as Director of the Department of General Practice of PKUFH and President of the Chinese Society of General Practice (CSGP). She also chairs the National Health Commission’s General Practice Expert Committee and is Vice Chair of the Professional Committee for Respiratory Disease Prevention and Control of Chinese Preventive Medicine Association.
Professor Chi has led pivotal national initiatives, including supervising the development and implementation of 122 national clinical guidelines for 75 diseases, standardizing care and benefiting millions of patients. She expanded the “contracted family doctor” model, and also advanced integrated, multidisciplinary care and enhancing capacity for chronic disease management across over 20,000 primary care institutions. Her research in AI-powered diagnostics and digital health tools has made great impact. Her team’s work helped shape national and international healthcare guidelines for COPD and diabetes.
As an educator, Professor Chi has trained nearly 100 graduate students and over 500 primary care leaders, instituting curriculum reforms and receiving 12 national teaching awards.
