I have been WONCA Treasurer (Member at Large) since 2023 and am standing for re-election.  I have greatly enjoyed working with the President, President Elect, CEO and Executive Board to achieve WONCA’s mission, and would like to continue to do so. 

I have been a family doctor in inner-city London for over 25 years and have a particular passion for caring for people in difficulty, with little money, poor housing and multiple health conditions.   During the COVID pandemic, I also led on the Royal College of GPs’ (RCGP) national response, helping shape how family doctors responded to those most in need.  I was awarded the national honour of an MBE from King Charles III for my work on this during the pandemic.

I am also committed to improving standards in family medicine by supporting and educating family doctors in the early part of their careers. I was the RCGP Senior Sponsor in setting up the RCGP Junior International Committee over 15 years ago.  I was deeply privileged to receive the European Young Family Doctors Movement’s prestigious “Being Young Staying Young Award” last year, for prolonged, valuable contribution to EYFDM (previously VdGM).
