About Candan Kendir
Candan Kendir is a Health Policy Analyst at the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). A key focus of Candan’s work has been integrating the patient perspective into health system performance assessment, including the OECD's Patient-Reported Indicator Surveys (PaRIS). Candan plays a pivotal role in the PaRIS initiative, leading co-development with patients, primary care professionals and academics.
With a strong background in health services research and international health policy, Candan has contributed extensively to advancing patient-reported measures and strengthening primary care systems. Before joining the OECD, Candan gained firsthand experience in primary care and emergency care and conducted research at the French School of Public Health (EHESP). She holds a medical degree with a specialisation in family medicine and a master’s degree in public health, specialised in health policy, management and social and behavioural sciences. Her work focuses on connecting policy, research, and practice through collaboration and co-development, ensuring that initiatives are both inclusive and impactful.
About Ángel González
Ángel GONZÁLEZ is a Spanish General Practitioner (MD) and public health physician (MPH) with an academic background in epidemiology, health economics (MSc), and business administration in health (MBA). He has ten years of experience at both national and international levels, working in Clinical Primary Care, Public Health, Academia, and Health Systems and Policy Consulting. Ángel is currently working for the OECD on the Patient-Reported Indicator Surveys (PaRIS) project. He is also a Research Fellow in Global Health Systems and Policy at University College London – Global Business School for Health, and a Visiting Researcher at Amsterdam UMC.
