IX Conference of the Association of General Practice/Family Medicine South East Europe in Ljubljana

IX A GP/FM SEE Conference in Ljubljana Brings Together Over 150 Participants from 12 Countries

The IX Conference of the Association of General Practice/Family Medicine South East Europe (A GP/FM SEE) took place from June 5th to 7th, 2025, in Ljubljana, Slovenia. The event gathered more than 150 participants from 12 countries, creating a space for family medicine professionals and healthcare experts to connect and share knowledge.


On behalf of the Organizing Committee, participants were warmly welcomed by Aleksander Stepanović, President of the Slovenian Family Medicine Society, and Ljubin Šukriev, President of A GP/FM SEE. An online greeting was also shared by Shlomo Vinker, WONCA Europe President, while Nataša Pirc Musar, President of Slovenia, sent a special welcome message to the conference.

Attendees participated in discussions, presented research, and explored developments in general practice and family medicine. Keynote speakers included Prof. Igor Švab, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Ljubljana; Dr. Rebecca Payne, who spoke on "Remote Medicine: Now and in the Future"; and Dr. Harris Lygidakis, CEO of WONCA.

The conference offered opportunities for networking and collaboration, supporting ongoing efforts to improve healthcare across the region.
