WONCA Europe is pleased to annouce a joint collaboration with the European Forum for Primary Care (EFPC), the European Medicines Agency (EMA) and the European Union of General Practitioners (UEMO).
The statement, was signed on 6 June 2019 at the EMA headquarters in Amsterdam.
The main aim of the collaboration is to bridge gaps between the regulatory and real-life clinical practice worlds.

This new collaboration has a concrete action plan to achieve by 2020, which aims to guide EMA, UEMO, EFPC and WONCA Europe in their joint work.
The action plan includes the specifies the following areas:
- Involving GPs and family physicians in EMA evaluation activities.
- Developing communication activities relevant to GPs and family physicians.
- Exploring options for further collaboration with existing research networks in primary care, with a focus on generating real-world evidence.
- Identifying opportunities for cooperation in regulatory science training.
