EYFDM, whose annual report was noted by the WONCA Europe Council 2025 held two days before, presented their accomplishments, highlighting their contributions to the YFDM preconference and ongoing World Conference, and shared their requests for future support from WONCA Europe.
Preparations for upcoming Forums were confirmed: Tallinn (Estonia) in 2026, Malaga (Spain) in 2027, and the Netherlands in 2028. Planning for the WONCA Europe Paris 2026 young doctors' preconference is already underway with affordable accommodation identified. Discussions also covered funding strategies, bursaries and awards, sustainable conference guidelines, and policies to support young doctors, including extended maternity leave and stronger member engagement.
To immediately bolster the partnership, the WE Executive Board invited EYFDM to attend the WW Conference 2025 WE Open Session and utilize the joint WONCA Europe Networks and Special Interest Group (SIG) booth. For ongoing support, the Board reaffirmed its commitment to promoting EYFDM activities and events through the full reach of the WONCA Europe newsletter and social media channels.
The meeting successfully reinforced the strong bond between WONCA Europe and EYFDM. By confirming support for key events and discussing vital policies, both organizations demonstrated a shared, forward-looking commitment to empowering young family doctors and driving the future of General Practice/Family Medicine throughout Europe.
