The WONCA Europe (WE) Executive Board met with representatives from its active Special Interest Groups on September 19, 2025, during the 25th WONCA World Conference in Lisbon (Portugal).
This important meeting served to discuss ongoing collaboration and included the following SIGs:
- European Primary Care Cardiovascular Society (EPCCS)
- European Society for Primary Care Gastroenterology (ESPCG)
- International Primary Care Respiratory Group (IPCRG)
- General Practice Research on Infections Network (GRIN)
- Lifestyle Medicine Group
- Primary Care Diabetes Group (PCDE)
- Primary Care Allergy and Immunology Group (PCAIG)
- Social Prescribing and Community Orientation Group
- Doctor’s Health and Well-being Group
The SIGs, whose annual reports were noted on the WE Council 2025 agenda held two days prior, each had the opportunity to introduce themselves and summarise their goals and activities. Representatives emphasised their contributions to the ongoing World Conference, discussed their requests to WONCA Europe, and planned future collaborative projects.
The WE Executive Board thanked the SIGs for their attendance and valuable contributions. The Board invited them to attend the upcoming WONCA Europe Open Session at the Conference, meet at the joint WONCA Europe SIG and Networks booth, and offered continued support through the WONCA Europe newsletter and social media channels to showcase their events and publicise their activities.
This productive session highlighted the depth and breadth of work being done across various clinical and thematic areas within European General Practice/Family Medicine.
