President’s Corner
Dear colleagues,
The holiday season is over, and I hope you all had the opportunity to rest, enjoy, and recharge for the year ahead.
Although the COVID-19 pandemic is over, we are facing a severe flu season with significant illness this year. This is compounded by a decline in the willingness to get vaccinated, which presents one of the significant challenges we continue to face as family doctors in the post-COVID era.
At WONCA Europe, we are preparing for another year of intensive work. We are deepening our involvement in WHO projects, strengthening our collaborations with other scientific and professional associations, and involved in new European projects and initiatives.
We are also diligently working on the preparations for hosting the WONCA World Conference in Lisbon this September. We are pleased to announce that the conference website is now open to submit abstracts for lectures, workshops, symposia, and posters. These submissions will showcase the work done in family medicine across Europe and worldwide.
Yours sincerely,
Prof Shlomo Vinker
WONCA Europe President
