The information provided on the Website is generic. The information is not adjusted to personal or other specific circumstances and should not be seen as a personal, professional or legal advice to the user.

This privacy policy concerns the processing of personal data of current and former users, registered members or persons who have shown an interest in the services and content of the Website.

The following categories of personal data can be processed by us, depending on our professional relationship with you:

  • Name, surname, gender, profession, affiliation
  • Physical address, telephone number (landline and mobile), email address
  • VAT number and company number
  • Electronic data (IP address, location, cookies, landing pages accessed, referring and exit pages, URLs, types of browser used, language of your browser, the amount of time spent on particular pages or parts of pages)
  • Social media profiles

Purposes for which Stichting WONCA Europe uses your personal data and the legal basis for processing this data

  • With your approval (point (a) of paragraph 1 of  Art. 6 GDPR): to answer to your requests when you contact us through the Website, by email or phone; to manage your membership to Stichting WONCA Europe and/or its Network Organisations; to manage your user registration to the entire Website or specific parts of it; to send newsletters to you after receiving explicit permission from you; to notify you of changes to our services.
  • To send you communications which you have requested and that may be of interest to you (point (a) of paragraph 1 of  Art. 6 GDPR). These may include information about events, update on European Affairs, research and educational opportunities, promotions of third organisations' services, and WONCA internal news.
  • For purposes based on the legitimate interests pursued by Stichting WONCA Europe and its Network Organisations, we will ensure the balance between these legitimate interests and the respect for your privacy is preserved (point (f) of paragraph 1 of  Art. 6 GDPR).
  • To comply with legal and financial obligations applicable (point (c) of paragraph 1 of  Art. 6 GDPR), which may require the processing of data and the storage or transmission of data to the competent authorities.

Circumstances your personal data can be passed on to third parties

In the following circumstances your personal data can be passed on to third parties:

  • To our subcontractors for the purposes of completing tasks and providing services to you on our behalf (such as MailChimp, HubSpot Marketing). In these cases, we disclose only the personal information that is necessary to deliver the service, we require them to keep your information secure and to use your data within strict limits defined by us.
  • To government agencies to comply with legal requests.

Passing of information outside the EEA

Your personal data will not be passed to anyone outside the European Economic Area, which includes the 28 Member States of the European Union, as well as Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein.

The time your personal data will be retained

We will only retain your personal data to the extent and as long as it is necessary and relevant for our operations and/or to comply with legal, accounting, or reporting requirements. We retain your personal data while your account is in existence or as needed to provide you services. How Stichting WONCA Europe ensures the safety of your personal data

We do everything to secure your personal data as safe as possible and to safeguard your privacy. We take all technical and organisational measures needed, however we cannot guarantee the security of any information you transmit to us, and you do so at your own risk. Once we receive your information, we make our best effort to ensure its security on our systems.

Where we have given (or where you have chosen) a password which enables you to access certain parts of the Website, you are responsible for keeping this password confidential. We ask you not to share your password with anyone.

Your rights concerning your personal data
