The WONCA Europe Executive Board met online on Monday, 8 May 2023 for a regular monthly meeting.
Preparations for the WONCA Europe Brussels conference and council meeting are underway.
The theme of the WONCA Europe Open Meeting Brussels 2023 is
High touch versus high tech: the crucial role of face-to-face general practice in the digital age
The open meeting will be held on Thursday, 8 June, 11.15 – 12.30, Gold Hall.
A visit to the European Parliament for the Council members will be organized on the 6th of June from 14.30-15.30. An invitation will be sent to the members of the WONCA Europe Council.
The evaluation of the WONCA Europe Special Project has concluded. The winning projects will be announced shortly.
The formulation of the following documents has been finished and will be presented to the Council in Brussels for voting:
- WONCA Europe Recommendation on Qualifications for General Practice/Family Medicine Academic Posts in the Universities and Academic Units
- Revision of the GP/FM definition, reflecting One Health, Planetary Health and Sustainable Development Goals
- POCUS Position Paper
Our candidate for the WONCA Europe Montegut Scholar for 2023 is Mihai Sorin Iacob, from Romania.
WONCA Europe EB evaluated 4 bids for the 2026 WONCA Europe Conference Call: Turkey (Antalya), Greece (Athens), Germany (Munich) and France (Paris). The candidates have revised their bids. The host of the 2026 Conference will be awarded by voting during the Council Meeting in Brussels.
