The 98th EGPRN meeting was held in Porto, Portugal between 9-12th May 2024. The meeting was held at the University of Porto in Medical School with 201 participants. Not only from Europe there was also overseas attendance from South Korea and Canada. The top 5 countries with the highest number of participants were Portugal (29), France (20), Hungary (18), Spain (17) and Turkey (17). The number of first time attendees was 71 and as usual, Blue Dot coffee was organized for the first time participants to give them the opportunity to mingle with more experienced researchers and get to know each other. Three pre conference workshops; Writing for Publication-Meet the Editors for Tricks, Evidence-Based Clinical Practice and How to Conduct a Systematic Review were organized for this meeting.

The main theme of the meeting was Evidence Based Medicine in General Practice. In this context, we had the chance to listen to two excellent speakers. The international keynote speaker was Dr. Minna Johansson and she gave a speech on practice guidelines and the time needed to treat the physician. The national keynote speaker, Assist Prof Bruno Heleno also talked about evidence-based medicine practices and patient-centered approach.
Again, in accordance with the format of the meeting, we had the opportunity to discuss and follow many new research ideas, ongoing projects and research.

Apart from these, there was a great interest in practice visits and they were all fully booked. Finally the poster session also attracted a lot of attention and Mafalda Proença from Portugal was awarded the best poster prize among 48 posters.
