Update from EYFDM (European Young Family Doctors Movement)

EYFDM (formerly the Vasco da Gama Movement (VdGM)) has now completed its rebranding. The logo and website are new, our social media has been updated, and we are just completing the process to be a legally independent WONCA Europe Network. The same infectious passion for family medicine remains however!

Our Hippokrates and FM360 exchanges are as popular as ever, with many of our members taking the opportunity to experience and learn from family medicine outside of their home country. Plans are well underway for the EYFDM pre-conference at WONCA Europe in Brussels this summer. We’re keen to maximise access to the pre-and main conference for young family doctors. Excitingly, our conference bursary scheme has received great interest from individuals who would have not otherwise been able to attend - with almost 70 applications! The EYFDM pre-conference schedule is jam packed with wide-ranging talks and workshops providing different perspectives from across Europe. This will of course be complemented by our renowned networking and social events. The pre-conference will provide an opportunity to welcome new and thank outgoing members of our executive, with elections taking place the day before the pre-conference for a number of executive roles.

Following on from the preconference, we look forward to the main conference where we will recognise the outstanding research and practice achievements of specific EYFDM members through our Junior Researcher, Exchange, and Fons Sips Awards. A number of the EYFDM Special Interest Groups and individual members eagerly await the workshop and oral/poster presentations and a plenary session they plan to deliver at the WONCA Europe main conference.

You are welcome to follow us on social media for updates on our activities (Twitter @EYFDM; Instagram https://www.instagram.com/eyfdm/; Facebook https://www.facebook.com/eyfdm/)

We look forward to seeing you in Brussels!
