Professor Shlomo Vinker, WONCA Europe President, attended the 40th Annual Meeting of the Portuguese Association of Family Doctors (APMGF). It took place from March 29th to April 1st, in Vilamoura, at the Centro de Congressos do Algarve. Shlomo declared “it was a remarkable experience. It was inspiring to witness hundreds of family doctors, including both young and senior professionals from across Portugal, gather together to showcase their original work and participate in state-of-the-art lectures”.
During the event, he took part in a round table chaired by Dr. Nina Monteiro, along with Dr. Carlos Martins, chair of European Network for Prevention and Health promotion in Family Medicine and General Practice (EUROPREV), the other speaker at the event. Dr. Vinker presented WONCA Europe's vision and mission and discussed our preparations for the upcoming 2025 WONCA World Conference of Family Doctors and General Practitioners, which will be hosted by APMGF and WONCA Europe in Lisbon.
Professor Vinker highlighted that “Lisbon is a very attractive city for our colleagues from each one of the WONCA Regions (South America, Europe, Asia), that means we expect a conference with many delegates and many interesting ideas from all over the world”
