WONCA Europe Newsletter
January 2022
Dear colleagues,
We hope you had a good start to the new year! We closed 2021 with the perspective towards a turn to normal life and a growing amount of physical meetings and other activities within WONCA Europe, our network organisations and Special Interest Groups.
The WONCA Europe members and the members of the Executive Board worked a lot to achieve this - and we are optimistic to see it happen. The personal exchange and experiencing the community of family medicine, which we missed for two years, will make the coming months special and refreshing.
With the best wishes!
On behalf of WONCA Europe Executive Board
Thomas Frese, President-elect
Sonia Tsukagoshi, VdGM, Member at large
WONCA Europe Newsletter Editors
The WONCA Europe president’s cornerDear colleagues, We are at the beginning of a new year, the 3rd year with COVID-19. It seems that nothing can be predicted with that virus, but maybe the Omicron variant is the first step for a change and optimism. WONCA Europe starts the new year with new and promising activities. We are planning to have a special edition of our journal (the EJGP) dedicated to research on COVID-19 in family medicine, and you will find the call for papers in this newsletter. We are starting a series of mini-conferences with updates on various clinical topics and the first one will be a special mini-conference in the World obesity day in cooperation with EaSO (European association for the study of obesity) And most importantly, we are all waiting to meet each other face-to-face in the WONCA Europe annual conference in London in June this year, and submission of abstracts is still open. Yours, Professor Shlomo Vinker |
