We are pleased to share the December edition of our newsletter with you. You may find out about our Networks future events, including EUROPEV e-learning webinars 2023; as well as PeerVoice Educational Activity: To Boost or Not to Boost: Why, to Whom, and When Should the Next COVID-19 Vaccine be Given? that has been reviewed and endorsed by us. Furthermore, you may learn more about WONCA Europe Executive Board activities through our last virtual monthly meeting summary. We are excited to announce that nominations are now open for the "WONCA Europe Award for Excellence in Health Care: The 5 Star Doctor 2023" as well as the WONCA Europe project fund 2023.

On behalf of the WONCA Europe Executive Board, we wish all our readers a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays. We hope the new year brings peace to Ukraine and its people can rebuild their lives. We thank all our regular readers who have followed our newsletter and are excited to keep you updated with our activities throughout 2023. We wish everybody a wonderful start to 2023!

The WONCA Europe president’s corner

Dear colleagues,

This issue of our monthly newsletter is the last issue for 2022. On behalf of WONCA Europe EB I can summarize this year as fruitful and successful for us. We had a very well organized and interesting annual conference in London, we increased our activity and involvement in European bodies, like the WHO European region, EMA, UEMO and others. We intensified our cooperation with professional bodies in the fields of Hepatology, Gastroenterology, Nephrology, Obesity, Periodontology, and many others. We produced educational materials and webinars, and we are proud of the special edition of the EJGP led by guest editors from WE EB. This edition gave the stage to researchers in family medicine to share their studies about COVID-19.

The year of 2022 was challenging for our colleagues in Ukraine. They are still under a terrible war, with many physical and emotional casualties and millions of refugees. We are looking forward to 2023 for a peaceful year wishing that the war in Ukraine will come to its end. We will continue to enhance our activities and hope to meet you all in our conference in Brussels.
